From May 12 to 15, 2026, the 1st Conference on Space Science and Technology in Serbia was held at the Science and Technology Park Niš.
The conference was dedicated to topics in the fields of space science, satellite technologies, space engineering, the application of artificial intelligence and robotics in space research, remote sensing, communication systems, space policy, law, economics, education, and related disciplines. The program included invited lectures, oral presentations, thematic sessions, and accompanying events aimed at facilitating the exchange of experience and the establishment of cooperation among participants.
The conference was conducted successfully and without organizational difficulties. The program was implemented largely according to the planned schedule. Out of a total of 37 planned presentations, three were not delivered, while all other program activities were carried out as scheduled.
Participation in the conference was of importance for the Astronomical Observatory, as the event brought together representatives of scientific institutions, universities, industry, and other organizations engaged in space science and technology. The conference contributed to the presentation of activities in this field, the exchange of professional knowledge, and the strengthening of cooperation between domestic and international partners.
