Astronomical Observatory at the 68th International Book Fair

At the 68th International Book Fair (Belgrade, October 25 - November 2, 2025), the Astronomical Observatory of Belgrade presented its publications. A presentation with three speakers was held at the stand of the Center for the Promotion of Science (CPN) on Monday, October 27, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. First, Dr. Srđan Samurović, principal research fellow from the Astronomical Observatory, presented the historical development of the Observatory's publishing activities from its very foundation to the present day, with special emphasis on its Publications, which have been printed since 1947 and of which he is the editor-in-chief. Then, Dr. Milan Dimitrijević, principal research fellow, former director of the Astronomical Observatory and at one time also the editor-in-chief of the Publications, spoke about the last printed Publication No. 106, the proceedings "One Hundred Years of Institutional Independence of the Astronomical Observatory" and each of the 11 contributions printed in it. Finally, Ms. Natalija Janc spoke about the penultimate printed Publication No. 105, "Scientific Cooperation and Correspondence of Milutin Milanković and Vjačeslav Žardecki", co-authored with Mr. Nedeljko Todorović, Dr. Milivoj Gavrilov and Prof. Dr. Luka Popović, Director of the Observatory, drawing attention to the details of the cooperation and correspondence between the two scientists that lasted for three decades, from 1927 to 1957. These Publications, as well as other publications of the Astronomical Observatory, were exhibited at the stand of the Center for the Promotion of Science.
