Abstract
In this research, the temperature trends were analyzed at meteorological station Vranje for the period 1949-2024. The study aims to determine the trend in air temperature on annual, seasonal, and monthly levels and to determine the change point in the time series. The non-parametric Mann-Kendall test and Pettitt test were used. Based on the processed data and the obtained results, it can be concluded that the trend of annual, monthly and seasonal air temperatures is increasing. The air temperature increases annually by about 0.019°C (ɑ=0.001). A statistically significant trend was determined in July (ɑ=0.1) and in the summer period of the year (ɑ=0.05). A statistically significant trend of temperature increase occurred at the meteorological station Vranje after 1997. The results of air temperature trend research are of great scientific and practical importance for future urban and rural planning, but also for the projection of future trends and the creation of climate models.
